David Thulstrup designs four installations for Poliform Lab

Poliform Lab is conceived as an idea center of the Poliform brand, a factory that does not simply roll out objects of design, but concepts as well. It starts from the observation of international trends, keeping constant watch for the fresh trends that are increasingly shifting in style and content. This all leads up to communication solutions that take shape in real time such as images, exhibitions, video-clips, events, and interpretations of styles.
In its capacity as an ideas center and not a simple production unit, the laboratory can easily be labelled "a window into the world of Poliform".
Designer David Thulstrup, principal of the Copenhagen-based Studio David Thulstrup, thinks so too. He is the creative mind behind the four studies of the Poliform Lab, which he shook up by showcasing Poliform out of the usual context.
His work has touched on various aspects, introducing more playful color and fabric combinations and re-configuring spaces. Specifically, independent internal walls have been created upholding the openness and transparency of the glass.
The first study is inspired by the colours of the sky, sea and earth and narrates a relaxed and calming atmosphere. An intense turquoise blue serves as a background for the absolute protagonist of the interiors: the Santa Monica armchair. Set in a voluptuous and sophisticated sitting room, the second study boasts a subtle metropolitan style. The elegant, dark-purple flooring and walls covered with walnut panels and faux fur bring out the white shades and marble of the Sydney collection.
Nocturnal and romantic, the third study brings pastel colours and light, airy fabrics to the bedroom, with a polished, architectural Carrara marble wall, serving as the backdrop. The Dream bed takes centre stage here.
The fourth study is a creative combination that mixes steel, glass, painted durmast oak and stone with terrazzo detail. Herein, Poliform furniture materials are neatly displayed in a glass case.
The result is therefore a collection of suggestive and creative spaces, thanks to which Poliform Lab can be truly defined as unprecedented and exclusive.
