In 1943 Jans Risom designed for Knoll the eponymous Risom Chair, an interior chair that soon became one of the most interesting icons in the collection.

Described as good, honest furniture design, the Risom Collection helped establish Knoll as an early source of modern design in America.

Three-quarters of a century later, selected products from the original collection have been re-engineered and re-designed, turning the chair into a furnishing element for outdoor use.

This is how the Risom Outdoor Side Chair was born, a chair with oiled teak frames and Sunbrella® webbing, a fine UV-resistant, anti-mold and bleach-washable yarn.

In this way, the Risom chair was ready for a long outdoor life, without problems of weather resistance and damage from the elements. A classic item revisited in a modern key, which thus becomes a timeless piece of furniture.
