Knoll wins 2018 FSC Leadership Award
27/11/2018
Knoll won the 2018 FSC Leadership Award for serving as the largest contract supplier of FSC-certified furniture in the United States and offering FSC-certified wood as a standard component of its furniture.
Established in 1993, FSC is a global, independent, not-for-profit organization that sets the standards for what is a responsibly managed forest or plantation., both environmentally and socially.
The FSC® logo identifies all those products containing wood from forests managed correctly and responsibly, according to strict environmental, social and economic standards. The forest of origin is controlled and evaluated independently in accordance with these standards (principles and criteria of good forest management), established and approved by the Forest Stewardship Council® through the involvement, participation and consent of stakeholders.
A leading advocate for independent third-party certification, Knoll established a partnership with the Forest Stewardship Council in 2009 that is still alive today.
In this way, the Forest Stewardship Council has acknowledged Knoll's commitment to responsible forest management and sustainable design. As the world's most trusted forest certification entity, the Forest Stewardship Council's awards also celebrate and recognize the forest owners, architects, manufacturers, environmental organizations and more whose work demonstrates excellence in the field of responsible forest management and sourcing.
Knoll associates accepted the award in a celebration hosted by FSC at the Glessner Coach House in Chicago, Illinois. Surely, another milestone and a fundamental goal for the brand and for all its members.
