Flexform's A.B.C.D. chair receives honorable mention at ADI's XXIV Compasso d'Oro award

Flexform has recently earned an honorable mention at ADI's XXIV Compasso D'Oro award thanks to its A.B.C.D. armchair designed by Antonio Citterio, and which had already been shortlisted by ADI Design Index 2015.

The A.B.C.D. armchair represents a restyling of the iconic A.B.C. armchair, designed by Antonio Citterio in 1996. The brand new version looks more modern thanks to some important technical changes.

Among other things, the metal armrest featured in the A.B.C. has been removed, and the armchair is now based on a patented extendible mechanism which allows the seat cushion to move forward and make for an overall more comfortable sitting.

Metal frame, foam injected polyurethane padding covered with removable fabrics or upholstered in leather.

The honorable mention was motivated by the chair's markedly innovative design content that made it stand out among its peers, and that can be seen particularly in the combination of wide squared cushions and their cubic shape defined by a metal frame.
